Who we are:

Power Packs Project is a nonprofit organization in Lancaster, Lebanon, and York counties dedicated to ending hunger in our local schools over the weekend, when free school breakfasts and lunches aren’t available.

Every week, our participants receive a Power Pack - a fresh recipe, all the ingredients to make that meal, pantry staples like cereal or peanut butter, and local fresh items like milk and produce.

We are changing lives,

one meal at a time!

Our Mission Statement: We empower families with education and ingredients to create nutritious weekend meals, so their children return to school fed and ready to learn.

Our impact in our community:

519,437 meals

Power Packs provided more than 519,437 meals in the previous school year and summer programs. We’re on track to beat that number this year.

5,975 hours

Over 5,975 volunteer hours went into helping us meet our mission last year. From working in the office on admin projects, to packing and delivering boxes, we can’t do it without our amazing volunteers!

58,161 children

During the previous school year + summer program, we have served over 58,161 children right in our backyard!

Hear from local parents who participate in Power Packs:

“I recently lost my job, and I struggled a lot with finances. To make things worse, I found out we were not eligible for food stamps. It was almost impossible to make ends meet. Then, my daughter came home from school one day with a Power Packs application, and it was exciting to see that we might be able to receive some help! I applied, and we started the program. To be honest, Power Packs Project has saved us! There were days during this difficult time in our lives where I just didn’t know what to do or where to turn. Without it, we could have gone days with little food.”

Volunteer

We couldn’t meet our mission without the hundreds of volunteers that pack boxes, deliver to schools, & make sure we feed our community!

Power Packs means to me and my girls a life link. It provides us with food. But it’s more than food, it’s knowing that someone cares for you and understands what you and your family are going through. We cook the meal together and we sit down and talk.
