Our Community Partners

Power Packs' proven innovation for weekend food distribution sets us apart but it takes a community to to make this happen. At Power Packs, we are empowering families with tools to help feed their children and fight the food insecurity crisis and hunger paradox on the front line: In homes and kitchens of low-income, urban and rural communities across Lancaster County. The following partners are joining us in the campaign and project of “HUNGRY KIDS CAN’T LEARN”

Schools

Power Packs’ unique approach to providing a weekend nutritious meal and food preparation skills attempts to teach families how to better stretch their food dollars. Power Packs provide low cost recipes and ingredients for our participants to cook a meal under $5. Our research-based methodology addresses the many factors that influence a child's decision making: personal, interpersonal, and environmental. In partnership with the 11 school districts Power Packs is approved to work within school districts, so we can work with a school liaison to help meet kids and their where they need us—and where we can help build a school-wide culture that works to decrease food insecurity.
